National Fund for Inclusive Entrepreneurship & Economic Justice
The pandemic has exacerbated the gap of historically uninvested communities to opportunities and economic well-being. Institutional policies and historic systems have further the gap to the American dream. These organizations are taking a systems approach to tackle addressing the economic gaps to entrepreneurship and capital in the U.S.
Why Now: Economic forces and the pandemic have increased inequality and opportunity across the U.S. greatly lowering well-being and generational prosperity. Long term thinking, with immediate action is necessary to shift the tides. The Decade Project is a platform with the audacious goal to close the entrepreneurship gap in the U.S. within a decade with catalytic actions to add and grow sustainable businesses of 2+ million more new female and BIPOC sustainable growth businesses. For over forty years, Prosperity Now has worked tirelessly to drive economic empowerment so everyone can thrive. Their work attempts not only to mitigate the causes of a broken economic system that perpetuates inequities, but also to change the system itself by addressing the fundamental structures that are the root causes of inequity. The National Community Reinvestment Coalition is a network of organizations and individuals dedicated to working with community leaders, policymakers and institutions to advance solutions and building the will to solve America’s persistent racial and socio-economic wealth, income and opportunity divides, and to make a Just Economy a national priority and a local reality.
